What to expect on your Kogan.com recruitment journey

 

When applying for a role at Kogan.com we want to give you a heads up on what you can expect from our hiring process to make you feel as prepared as possible and put your best foot forward!

Sometimes hiring processes can differ, so here we’re aiming to give you some insights to assist you with being prepared for what you can expect when going through our hiring process.

We are a very data-driven and analytical business, so perhaps it should come as no surprise that you’ll find aspects of this across our hiring process! We have a comprehensive suite of assessments per role to ensure that we’re bringing the best and brightest on board to help contribute, shape and deliver our strategy!

We also aim to give you insights into what you can expect in each role from completing these assessments and so you can view them as gaining insight into the role you’re applying for!

While we keep our process agile to ensure the best experience for our candidates, below is a summary of what you can expect as part of the hiring process:

 

Analytical Testing

Innovative thinking got our business to where it is now, so it makes sense that we look for like-minded problem solvers! As a first step to our process, all new candidates will be sent testing, so be sure to keep an eye out for it!

 

Psychometric Testing

The final stages for some roles may involve Psychometric (Personality and Emotional Intelligence) testing. This type of testing is designed to assess your fit for a particular role and how you work within certain contexts and work environments.

Technical Testing

Whether it’s assessing your coding or Excel expertise, we want to see if you’ve got the goods to master the day to day requirements!

 

Interviews

We’re a dynamic business and work hard to ensure we’re bringing on the best people, quickly. Most positions at Kogan.com will go through a two-stage interview process and reference checks, however on occasion, our interview process may differ depending on the nature and level of the position. All interviews are guided by behavioural questions to best determine your fit to the position and Kogan.com culture.

 

Regardless of what testing stage you’re at it’s recommended that you set aside a dedicated time to complete the assessments free from distractions.

We truly believe that a hiring process should be in collaboration with our candidates, so we encourage you to come prepared with questions, so you can get a better sense of our business and if we’re a good fit for you too!

Tips when applying for a role with us

We want to ensure you’re set up for success, so here are some tips when applying with Kogan.com:

 

Be Prepared

  • Research Kogan.com to ensure you have a good understanding of company purpose, goals and values for your application and the interview . 

  • Applications should  have a Cover Letter - generic Cover Letters won’t cut it here - so showing a true understanding and interest in our business will allow your application to  stand out!

  • Reflect on your career and note key highlights and achievements which help you demonstrate your experience and align to the role you’ve applied for

Interview Tips

  • Ensure you’re prepared ahead of the interview; whether it's familiarising yourself with the location or doing a test run for a video interview, if you’re prepared you’ll be calm and focused

  • Be yourself - we want to see the real you! It’s natural to feel a little nervous at an interview. We want you to feel comfortable and relaxed. Don’t be afraid to answer honestly and talk about yourself to show us the true you! Think of questions you would like to ask also – it’s just as important for you to assess us as a potential employer. Ask about things which are important to you!

  • We want to hear about your career aspirations - let us know what your career goals are so we know how best we can help you achieve them.

  • Dress to impress - but no suits required! Neat casual dress is acceptable for interviews with us
